How We Turn Ideas Into Software That Works

At AppZoro, the work starts long before development begins. We first get clear on your goals and requirements, then our product, design, engineering, and QA teams work together to move the project forward. You stay close to the work from planning through launch.

Let's Talk

Why Fortune Brands Choose AppZoro

Our Development Process

  1. Discovery

    • What We Do: We spend time with your team, your operations people and whoever actually uses the current system, then map how work moves today before anyone proposes a solution. Most of this phase is questions, including the awkward ones about budget, internal politics and what happens if a feature ships two months late.
    • What You Get: A written scope with features ranked by priority, a feasibility read on the risky parts, and an estimate that separates what you need on day one from what can wait until version two.
  2. Architecture

    • What We Do: We select the stack, data model, integration points and security approach for your workload, then write down the reasoning behind each choice. Expected load, compliance obligations and your own team's ability to maintain the system after handover all carry weight in that decision.
    • What You Get: Architecture diagrams, API contracts, a database schema and a scaling plan that states plainly what breaks at what volume and roughly what it costs to fix.
  3. Development & Integration

    • What We Do: Engineers work in two week cycles with peer review on every merge, and you see working software at the end of each cycle rather than a status percentage. Payment providers, ERPs, CRMs and internal tools get connected as we go, so integrations never become a last minute surprise.
    • What You Get: A running build you can log into and use, sprint notes covering what changed and what is next, and a backlog you control. Nothing enters a sprint without your call on priority.
  4. Testing

    • What We Do: Our QA engineers test alongside development instead of waiting at the end of the build. That covers functional testing, load and stress testing under expected and peak traffic, security review, real device and browser coverage, and a user acceptance round run by your own people.
    • What You Get: Test reports with reproduction steps, performance numbers you can compare against your targets, and a defect list that is closed and signed off before anything goes near production.
  5. Deployment

    • What We Do: Environments, pipelines and monitoring get configured before release day, not during it. Every launch carries a rollback plan, and an engineer from the build team stays on call through the first week of live traffic.
    • What You Get: A live product, deployment documentation your own team can follow, alerting configured to the right people, and a recorded handover session so nobody has to rely on memory six months later.
  6. Maintenance

    • What We Do: Support runs against an agreed response window, with fixes, security patches, platform updates and small feature work handled by the engineers who already know your codebase rather than a separate support desk.
    • What You Get: Monthly reporting on uptime, incidents and hours used, a rolling plan for the next quarter, and full ownership of your code, repositories and cloud accounts. You are free to leave whenever you want.

A Software Partner You Can Count On

Why Businesses Choose AppZoro for Custom Software

We have been building software since 2016 for enterprises, funded startups and operators who needed a system that could carry real load and real users. What keeps clients with us is rarely the code by itself. It is knowing who is working on what, why a technical decision was made, and what the next invoice will say before it arrives.

Talk to an Engineering Expert
  • Who actually builds your software at AppZoro?

Our senior architects, engineers, mobile developers and QA specialists build your software, and you work with the same team from planning through launch. They are on our payroll and sit in our Atlanta and offshore delivery teams. You meet them during discovery, not after signing. There is no handoff to a junior bench once the contract is closed.

  • How do you keep quality consistent across projects?

Our teams follow the same development and testing standards on every project, with code reviews and QA checks built into the process before anything goes live. That means peer review on every merge, automated tests in the pipeline and an internal architecture review before a system goes to build.

  • What happens when requirements change during development?

That is normal. We review the change with you, explain how it affects the timeline or budget, and let you decide how to move forward. New requests get sized against the current backlog so you can see the cost before committing. You choose whether it replaces something already planned or extends the schedule.

  • Who owns the code and intellectual property?

You do, your code, accounts, designs and project files remain yours, and when the project ends we hand over everything your next team needs to continue the work. That covers repositories, cloud accounts, domains, API keys and design files, all in your name from the first commit. Handover includes documentation and a recorded walkthrough so another team could pick it up without calling us.

Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

How do we get started with AppZoro?

It starts with a call where we ask about the business problem rather than the feature list. If there is a fit, we follow up with a short discovery proposal covering scope, timeline and cost. Most clients go from first conversation to signed engagement in two to three weeks.

Do you replace our internal team or work alongside it?

Both arrangements are common. Some clients hand over an entire product. Others plug two or three of our engineers into an existing team to cover a skill gap or absorb a spike in workload. We follow your ceremonies and coding standards when we are the ones joining.

What size of project do you take on?

Anything from a focused six week build to multi year platform work with several teams running in parallel. If a project is too small to justify the structure we bring, we will say so on the first call rather than take the work and underserve it.

Which industries have you worked in?

Healthcare, logistics and fleet management, hospitality, retail and ecommerce, fintech, real estate and field services, among others. Domain knowledge shortens discovery, but the harder question is usually how your existing systems are wired together, and that we work out project by project.

How much of my time will this need?

Roughly two to four hours a week during active development. That covers a weekly call, reviewing what shipped and answering questions that only your business can answer. Discovery is heavier, and maintenance is much lighter.

Pricing & Cost

How do you price an engagement?

Three models: fixed price when scope is genuinely locked, a dedicated team at a monthly rate when you need ongoing capacity, and time and materials for exploratory or research-heavy work. We recommend the one that fits the risk profile, not the one with the better margin for us.

What does a custom build typically cost?

A tightly scoped mobile app or internal tool usually lands in the low tens of thousands. Multi-platform products with complex integrations, AI components or compliance requirements run higher. You get a range at proposal stage and a firm number once discovery is complete, with the assumptions listed so you can challenge them.

Do you charge for discovery?

Short discovery calls and proposal work are free. A full discovery phase with workshops, technical feasibility and documented architecture is a paid engagement, and the deliverables are yours to take anywhere, including to another vendor.

What is covered by maintenance and what costs extra?

Bug fixes, security patches, platform and OS updates, monitoring and a defined number of support hours sit inside the monthly retainer. New features and major version work are quoted separately so your support bill does not quietly become a second development budget.

What happens if the project runs over budget?

You hear about it while there is still time to act. If a delay is our fault, we absorb it. If scope grew or a third party dependency changed, we bring you the numbers and the options before spending anything more. Nobody discovers an overrun on the final invoice.

Development Process

How soon will I see working software?

Usually within the first three to four weeks. We release at the end of every two week sprint, so you are reviewing something you can click through long before launch instead of reading progress reports.

How do change requests actually work?

Anything new goes onto the backlog with an estimate attached. During the weekly call you decide whether it moves up, swaps with something already planned, or waits for a later phase. Nothing gets built on an assumption that was never confirmed with you.

What does your QA process include?

Automated unit and integration tests in the pipeline, manual functional testing on real devices, load and stress testing against your expected traffic, security review and a user acceptance round with your team. Critical defects are closed before release and the sign off is documented.

How do you handle security and compliance requirements?

Compliance obligations are identified in discovery because they shape architecture. HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI DSS and GDPR each carry implications for how data is stored, logged and moved. We build to those requirements from the start and document the controls for your auditors.

What happens at handover?

You receive the full codebase and repository access, architecture and API documentation, deployment runbooks, test reports and a recorded walkthrough with the engineers who built it. The test we apply is simple. Could a developer who has never spoken to us take this over next month?
