Overview
Jax is a marketplace platform that puts vehicle owners and fleet operators on one side and rideshare drivers on the other. Drivers browse what is actually available, pick a car that fits the work they plan to do, and book it without signing a long term agreement. The fleet side of the platform handles the inventory, the maintenance schedule, and the allocation decisions that make same day availability possible.
The rental itself starts at two days and extends daily. That matters because gig income is not steady. A driver working a busy weekend can keep the car through Monday. A driver taking a week off is not paying for a vehicle sitting in a driveway. The fleet ranges from economy cars to higher end models, there is no mileage restriction, and the vehicle can be used on any ridesharing service.

AppZoro built native apps for iOS and Android on a scalable architecture that supports varying rental durations. A driver opens the app, sees live availability across the fleet, picks a vehicle that suits the work ahead, and moves through a short checkout. Extending takes one action rather than a new booking, and there is no mileage limit on the car once it leaves the lot.

Listening to Drivers and Owners
Two weeks with the counselling team and a group of graduates, ending inWe talked to the people on both sides of the rental: drivers about what flexibility, cost, and vehicle choice actually meant day to day, and fleet owners about how they managed their cars. Those conversations set the requirements instead of assumptions about the gig economy. a written scope both sides had signed rather than a slide deck.

Designing the Rental Flow
The interface had to make three things easy: find an available car, book it, and extend it. We designed around those actions first, then built the rest of the experience so a driver could get through booking or an extension without stopping to work out how the app thinks.

Building the Platform
Development covered daily extensions, same day pickup, and no mileage restrictions on the driver side, plus the fleet tools for inspections and work orders on the operator side. We also worked through partnerships with fleet owners and dealerships so vehicle supply stayed consistent.

Piloting in Atlanta and Dallas
Rather than launching wide, we ran pilot programs in Atlanta, GA and Dallas, TX and collected feedback from real drivers. The pilots caught issues before launch and let us set up maintenance protocols and service reminders that keep vehicles in condition.

Launch and Ongoing Support
Jax went live in its initial markets with training for both fleet owners and drivers. Real time management tools came online with it, so operators could monitor the fleet as it moved and respond to driver issues without waiting for a report.
